About Designer Ashley Losada
Ashley Losada was born in Caracas, Venezuela, and moved to Los Angeles to follow her dream of working for the Walt Disney Company. With a natural passion for art and design, she has now spent nine years providing creative design and direction across many merchandise categories. And it’s this passion for her work that gave way to designing this gorgeous Disney Princess Ariel doll, a heroine that Ashley and her sister bonded with when they were little girls.
Growing up in the Caribbean, the bright colors from Disney’s The Little Mermaid and the beautiful seascape spoke to Ashley. Every weekend, she and her sister would spend endless hours at the beach taking turns playing Ariel and Flounder; and singing along to all the beautiful songs.
The many values in The Little Mermaid also resonated with Ashley. Values such as celebrating a strong bond with family and the desire to explore something more beyond the world in which she grew up. Princess Ariel’s fearlessness and relentless pursuit of her dreams encouraged Ashley to follow her own. Moving to America alone, Ashley took the plunge to make her dreams come true at Disney.
